All Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotics explained

Writers note: A massive leak recently revealed a ton of Final Shape details that the developers didn’t intend. For full transparency, every item in this article has been shown off by official channels or before the leaks took place.

We will keep this guide updated as new Exotics are revealed. At the time of writing, the official Destiny social media channels are whipping the community into a frenzy with numerous new reveals. Here’s everything we’ve seen so far.

Here’s a list of every Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic Armor piece we know about so far, and we will update this guide when we see more.

Titan Exotic Armor

As a crayon-eater main myself, these are the Armor pieces I’m most excited about. The question is, will they be powerful enough to make me drop my Banner of War build?

Hazardous Propulsion

Hazardous Propulsion is an Exotic chest piece that buffs your class ability. When you deploy a Barricade, you’ll fire off a volley of Exodus Rockets at nearby enemies. Based on the trailer, these projectiles have some sort of tracking, which is an excellent feature.

I’ve used my Barricade as a panic button or a way to gain energy for my other abilities for too long. I’m looking forward to an Exotic to change that. It’ll also be interesting to use this Exotic with the Thrusters class ability.

Wishful Ignorance

The Wishful Ignorance Gauntlets improve the Strand Titan’s Frenzied Blade ability. Any Titan worth their Barricade will tell you how powerful Banner of War and the Strand subclass are, so this is great news.

A buff to Frenzied Blades is yet another reason to lean into the Subclass. Frenzied Blades have more charges with Wishful Ignorance, and consecutive hits deal increased damage.

Datto recently gave his thoughts regarding this Exotic as he had access to an early playtest. It seems exceptionally strong and is definitely an Exotic to watch out for.

Hunter Exotic Armor

Hunters always have the coolest-looking kit, in my opinion, and it seems like that trend is set to continue in the Final Shape.

Gifted Conviction

The Gifted Conviction Exotic Chest Piece makes your Arc Aspects create Bouncing Explosives. The Explosives look like they may chain together like Voltshot weapons, but we won’t know until we see them in action. Early reports suggest this armor may only be viable if you lean heavily into the Jolt debuff, which could be limiting for builds.

It’s been a hot minute since I used the Arc subclass on a Hunter, but with so many great Arc weapons, maybe this will be a good Exotic piece to build around.

Balance of Power

The Balance of Power Exotic legs are viewable on the official website, but we don’t know much about them. As the armor has green trim, I’m tempted to say they probably have a Strand application, but it’s hard to say.

The Armor looks hi-tech and wouldn’t be out of place on Neomuna, which would again suggest Strand. I rarely see Strand Hunters outside The Crucible, so maybe a powerful new Exotic ability can change that. Since it’s about balancing power, perhaps this Exotic has to do with Prismatic?

Warlock Exotic Armor

Warlocks are most well-known for the Solar Subclass and Well of Radiance. Let’s see if any upcoming Exotics focus on their DPS potential instead of their defensive utility.

Mataiodoxia

The Mataiodoxia Exotic Chest Piece makes your Arcane Needles cause a suspending Detonation. In the Trailer, we see a Warlock suspending a Champion Ogre with this ability, which seems extremely strong.

As a side note, the Mataiodoxia looks fantastic and may just be a viable option if you want to lean into the Strand Subclass.

Speaker’s Sight

The Speaker’s Sight is the perfect choice for players who prefer to fill a support role in their Fireteam. This Helmet spawns healing turrets when you throw healing grenades. The turrets fire homing shots, which grant Restoration and Cure to nearby allies.

There’s an argument to be made that offensive Exotics are better, but I can see this working in tougher content. If you’re a new player or feel like you don’t make much of an impact with your shooting, this could be the perfect Exotic to change that.

With so many incredible Exotic weapons in the game already, competition is high for that coveted slot in your inventory. Let’s see if any of the newcomers are fit to take that mantle.

Khvostov 7G-0X

I dig the old-school aesthetic of the Khvostov 7G-0X, and its Exotic Perk has the potential to be incredible against large groups. Every seventh shot of the Khvostov 7G-0X ricochets. 

We don’t know how many times the bullet can bounce or how powerful it is, but I’m up for seeing some magic bullet shenanigans. My guess is that the Khostov 7G-0X will be Kinetic, so it will be your go-to weapon against shielded enemies if you don’t have the matching element.

Microcosm

The Microcosm is an Exotic Heavy Trace Rifle with a trait that deals bonus damage to shields. The weapon trailer says the bonus damage is “massive,” I can only hope that’s true, as I’d love to rock a Trace Rifle in every slot.

I see a ton of praise for several Trace Rifles in Destiny 2 (the Appetence absolutely slaps!), but I rarely see anyone use them. Maybe the Microcosm will be powerful enough to change that.

Tesselation

The Tesselation Exotic Fusion Rifle is unique as it’s a weapon that can be enjoyed before the Final Shape drops. You can unlock the Tesselation if you pre-order the Final Shape, although it will be available to everyone at launch. We’ve seen Bungie do this with the Quicksilver Storm Exotic Auto Rifle.

Tesselation is a superb weapon that matches the element of your Subclass. Honestly, I’ve not found much use for mine, but that’s likely down to my build and how I rely on specific weapons.

If you’re desperate for some spicy new Final Shape tech and can’t wait until June 4, this is the Exotic for you.

Still Hunt

This weapon was teased in a showcase roughly a year ago, but it looks so much better now! The Still Hunt fires Golden Gun shots when charged up. If that’s not enough to get a Hunter main excited, I don’t know what is.

This announcement is a little light on details. We don’t know how long the Still Hunt needs to be charged to fire a Golden Gun shot. Does it spend additional ammo like the Izanagi’s Burden? Are the shots as powerful as a real Golden Gun shot? There are lots of questions to be answered. Still, as a fan of Sniper Rifles, this weapon is a fantastic addition to The Final Shape’s Exotic arsenal.

Red Death Reformed

The Red Death is one of the most Iconic Exotic weapons from the original Destiny. Back in the day, this deadly Pulse Rifle restored health on every kill and even granted increased reload speed. This new Red Death Reformed has a similar Exotic Trait but Cures instead of restoring health.

Another significant change is the element. The original Red Death was Kinetic, while the Reformed version is Solar. We’ll have to see how this weapon performs when The Final Shape launches.

One thing’s for sure: the Red Death Reformed has big boots to fill.

There are a ton of upcoming Exotic goodies to get excited for, but don’t neglect the best Exotic weapons in the game already. The Final Shape may be just around the corner, but there are plenty of top-tier weapons to grind for.
