Introduced in the Palworld Sakurajima update, you can now craft either a Lockpicking Tool v1, v2, or v3. Here’s how each Lockpicking Tool is created and which keys they replace:

You’ll have to wait until you have the right amount of Technology Points and you’re at the correct level to unlock the Lockpicking Tools. Once unlocked, you can create them using the materials listed above. If you ever find a chest that requires either a Copper, Silver, or Gold Key, you can instead use a Lockpicking Tool of that same type to unlock the chest.

If you’ve played Skyrim, you’ll recognize this Lockpicking minigame easily. It requires you to use your mouse to move the pick in a certain direction, then you push the “A” key to turn the lock. If the lock doesn’t move and starts to shake in place, that means you’re not close enough to the sweet spot.

Find the spot that has the most leeway to unlock the chest! Just be careful, as you can fail the Lockpicking minigame by pushing too hard in a bad spot. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like failing the minigame breaks your lockpick, and using your lockpick also won’t make the item disappear, meaning you can use it an infinite amount of times.

The benefits of a Lockpicking Tool are being able to craft them yourself (Keys are only found in the open world) and not having them disappear after a single use, so you should craft each Lockpicking Tool version to have on you at all times.

Other than the new Lockpicking Tools, there are other new features in the Palworld Sakurajima update such as Dog Coins.
